ACTION PLAN
Individual Action Plan:
1. Individually, you need to fill out the "Biome Worksheet," found on the "Introduction to Biomes" page of this website. You can either print this page out at home, or ask your teacher for it.
2. Watch all three videos on the website, found on the “Deciduous Forest” page, the “Grassland/ Tropical Savanna” page and the “Desert” page. As you watch, get out a piece of lined paper and write three new facts that you discovered watching these videos. They were made by students like you!
Please complete 2 of the 4 activities below as an individual:
1. Complete the National Geographic online quiz, Rain Forest Ranger, found on the “Tropical Rain Forest” page.
2. Complete the Rain Forest Acrostic Poem found on the "Tropical Rain Forest" page.
3. Complete the writing activity/prompt on the desert page about a "Trip to the Desert"!
4. Find ways to help protect a biome by finding a cause and lending your support. This can be through letter writing, phone calls, talking to people to publicize the issue, making posters, changing your own actions, or supporting foundations that work to protect the biomes of the world. Then, write a page about what you did!
Team Action Plan
As a team, you need to complete these two activities:
1. Go to the “Tundra” page. Click on the link and watch the National Geographic movie and complete the quiz.
2. Go to the “Biome in a Box” page. This activity will be completed as group homework!
As a team, you have the option to choose to complete any 2 of the activities listed below:
1. Go to the “Ocean Biome” page. Ask your teacher for the "Ocean Worksheet," that you see on the page, and fill out the worksheet about the animals found in the ocean biome. Then, go to to http://www.enchantedlearning.com/coloring/oceanlife.shtml
Find out one exciting fact about each of these animals.
2. Go to the “Desert Biome” page. Ask your teacher for the "Desert Worksheet," found on the page and label all the different desert biomes of the earth. Then, look up one of these deserts online. Write a one page, handwritten, paper about what it would be like to live in this desert.
3. Draw a picture of each biome, and write a short paragraph about each biome. Make sure to label your picture, and include plants and animals found there!
4. Go to the “Tundra” page. Click on the link and watch the National Geographic movie and complete the quiz.
